A prominent bank was operating on a legacy VoIP system powered by Asterisk. While functional, it came with high support demands, escalating storage and compute costs, and lacked the visibility and compliance features a modern financial institution needs. The bank was ready for a smarter, scalable solution — one that would provide compliant call recording, detailed reporting, and seamless integration with their internal systems.

In late 2024, Bulbtech engaged with the bank’s IT and compliance teams to clearly define outcomes and design a future-ready telephony solution. The objective? To deliver a best-in-class communications platform that met compliance requirements while unlocking flexibility, insights, and long-term cost efficiency.
Here’s how we made it happen:
Call Recording in the Cloud
We implemented a dedicated, secure service within the bank’s own Microsoft Azure environment to store all call recordings. Every interaction — whether Teams-to-Teams, traditional internal/external calls, or meetings — is now automatically recorded in line with regulatory and compliance needs.
SIP Integration & Carrier Flexibility
To maximise their existing investments, we connected the bank’s current SIP carrier to our Session Border Controller (SBC) service. This ensured a smooth transition, cost-effective scalability, and full access to MS Teams Enterprise Voice, powered by Illuminate from Bulb — all without disrupting existing carrier contracts.
Fast Deployment & Future Integration
The entire core service was up and running in just 10 days. With the foundations in place, we collaborated with the bank to identify integration points with CRM and back-office systems, and helped define their reporting and analytics needs for continuous improvement.
