Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

Bulb Tech Group Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 at the latest.

Bulb Tech is a UK managed voice, unified communications and contact centre provider based in Swansea. We deliver Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, BrightUC cloud telephony, AudioCodes Voca contact centre, compliance recording, voice AI and meeting room services. Our services run on shared, multi-tenant cloud platforms rather than on-site telephone systems, and most of our implementation and support work is carried out remotely. This gives us a small operational footprint, and it helps our customers reduce their own emissions by replacing on-premises PBX hardware, ISDN lines and associated power and cooling.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. They are the reference point against which emissions reduction is measured.

This is Bulb Tech’s first Carbon Reduction Plan, so the baseline year and the current reporting year are the same. The baseline covers all operations of Bulb Tech Group Limited, including employees working from our serviced office at Compass House, Swansea, and on a hybrid basis from home.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years in line with a 1.5°C-aligned pathway, equivalent to an absolute reduction of at least 4.2% per year, reaching Net Zero by 2050.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Initiatives

• Cloud-first service delivery — our voice, contact centre and recording services run on shared, multi-tenant cloud platforms, so customers do not need on-site PBX or contact centre servers.
• Remote-first implementation and support — configuration, number porting, testing, user training and fault resolution are carried out remotely wherever possible, avoiding site visits.
• Hybrid working and a shared serviced office, reducing office space, energy use and commuting.
• Paperless operation — proposals, contracts, invoicing and customer documentation are issued electronically.
• Direct-to-site delivery — equipment is shipped from the distributor straight to the customer’s site, avoiding double handling.

Future Initiatives

• Working with our landlord to move Compass House to a renewable (REGO-backed) electricity supply.
• A business travel policy that prioritises remote delivery, then rail and public transport, requiring any company or grey-fleet vehicle to be electric or hybrid from 2027.
• Grouping unavoidable site visits by region and scheduling installation work to reduce repeat journeys.
• Reuse and responsible recycling of equipment, including refurbished handsets and WEEE-compliant recyclers.
• Engaging key suppliers on their own Net Zero commitments and preferring suppliers with published Carbon Reduction Plans or science-based targets.
• An annual staff commuting and home-working survey to improve the accuracy of our Scope 3 data.

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 006 and associated guidance. Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and appropriate Government emission conversion factors.
